Sebana Cove Marina is situated 5 miles up the Santi River, entrance off the eastern tip of Singapore Island. GPS position N 01 24.76, E 104 09.84. It is a ***** resort with a marina complex. There are customs and immigration facilities on site and all paperwork will be taken care of by the marina for a payment of RM50.
The hotel is under used and yachties form the greater part of their present day activity. Marina users have full use of all hotel facilities. These include swimming pool, sauna, gym, bar and restaurant. A 10% discount is given on all food and beverage sales. The food is excellent but beer/wine prices are high. Two extensive toilet and shower facilities are available adjacent to the berths. A 72 hole golf course is also available at competitive rates.
The Marina is in beautiful surroundings, quiet and very sheltered. Staff are friendly and helpful. Call on VHF 71 to confirm berthing arrangements. Diesel fuel is available but is expensive – about twice service station prices. A courtesy bus is run into the local town twice a week (Mon & Thur) – most general items can be found; there is a good hardware store, a well stocked electrical store and an outboard engine dealer but no specific yacht or chandlery outlets.
A fast ferry service (1hr) runs to Singapore 3 times a day – return fare RM48 (plus S$5 fuel surcharge at Singapore terminal when returning!) Berthing rates for 12m yacht – daily RM28, weekly RM160, monthly RM640. Email: marina@sebanacove.com
A more attractive, and markedly cheaper, alternative to Raffles in Singapore.
