Andaman Rally Postponed Until 2007

The annual Andaman Sea Rally, due to sail for the third time in January 2005 with 20 confirmed vessels was cancelled following the tsunami which struck the area one week before. Following this, the Andaman Islands could no longer provide the required support and it was decided not to press on for all concerned.

Research over the last few months has shown there remains a lot of interest and desire for the Rally to continue. Yacht Solutions, the event organisers in Phuket, have decided not to run the event in 2006 allowing more time for the Andaman Islands to recover and re-develop their infrastructure, and will ensure a greater rally takes place in 2007. Plans are already being forged and the Rally will be back in full swing; bigger and better, and more fun in January 2007.
