Concern Over Situation in Ecuador Unfounded

The current political situation in Ecuador has caused concern among some sailors planning to visit that country, but accrding to Galo Ortiz, manager of Puerto Lucia Yacht Club, those concerns are totally unfounded. We have just received the following message:

As you may have seen on the news, the Vice-president has taken charge of the administration. All domestic and international flights have been reestablished. The Port Captain office is open for business as usual. There are some 20 foreign vessels at our marina at the present time, some with their owners present, and they are carrying on with their daily chores. At the Salinas area, we have not been affected in any way by this unrest. Yachts coming to Puerto Lucia YC will not experience any problems.
