The best source of weather, both for local waters and offshore, is Fred on Peri Peri who runs two nets every day: at 0500UTC on 8101 KHz , covering S.African coastal areas and Mozambique and inshore weather; moving to 12353 KHz at about 0520 UTC covering Indian Ocean up to Chagos and Atlantic, if requested. He then moves to 14316 KHz for Hams only. The same routine is followed at 1500UTC. Fred is a mine of information and is doing a valuable job helping the cruising community.

There is also Campbell’s net for ham operators at 1330 Z on 14316 KHz also 7045 or 7053.
