YSATT Launches Water Shuttle Service

The project initiated 2 years ago finally came to fruition on Tuesday 9th September with the launch of the YSATT water shuttle, “Annie”. “Our objective in introducing the shuttle is to make life a little more convenient for our visiting cruisers,” says Chris Marshall, President of YSATT. “Using the shuttle means that you can leave your dinghy secured on your boat and the shuttle will keep a security watch during the hours of operation.” The Carolina skiff-type vessel can comfortably accommodate 10 persons. The shuttle is berthed at Crews Inn and operates from Monday to Saturday with 4 daily runs (0900, 1130, 1800, 2100) beginning at Crews Inn, with stops at each YSATT member marina (Tropical Marine, Coral Cove, Hummingbird Marina, Power Boats, Peake Yacht Services, IMS), through the Anchorage zone and back to the Hi Lo dock (approximately 30 minutes round-trip). The shuttle is also on stand-by on Channel 68 for call-out trips between 9:00am – 12noon and 6:00pm – 10:00pm, answering to call sign “YSATT Shuttle”. Bookings can be made in advance for trips on Sundays and public holidays. Fees are TT$5/person for the scheduled run and TT$10/person for a call-out. “ We are extremely grateful to all the YSATT members that helped to make this project a reality with donations of materials and labour,” says Jacqueline Clarke, General Manager. Sponsors include Fortress Woodworking, Ship’s Carpenter, Dynamite Marine, Ace Sails and Canvas, Trintrac, La Soufriere Maritime, Calypso Canvas, Power Boats, Caribbean Marine Electrical, IMS, T&T; Marine Electrical, Peake Trading, Sign Lab, Budget Marine and Crews Inn.

TSTT Branch in Chaguaramas

The Mariner’s Office has just joined TSTT in a partnership to become the first and only TSTT Authorised Mobile Phone Dealer in Chaguaramas. Cruisers can now visit the convenient location at Crews Inns (on A Dock below the restaurant) for mobile phone service. As a Mobile Dealer, The Mariner’s Office can offer the full range of mobile services including pre-paid and post-paid TDMA and GSM phone activations, migrations from TDMA to GM, reconnections, roaming, sale/activation of SIM cards and sale and rental of phones. “We can also switch on’ the phone that you bring with you to Trinidad by assigning a local number if your phone has dual or tri bands,” says Demetrius Fraser, Manager. All members of staff have undergone intensive training to achieve the competency and knowledge required to provide quality mobile service.
