Port Charges Now Introduced In Iceland

Countries: Iceland

From 1st July 2004, the port of Reykjavik has introduced port charges for all visitors. The fee is 2500 icelandic crowns for up to one week's stay regardless of boat length. This charge entitles visitors to berth on a pontoon, water and electricity, as well as use of the showers and toilets (a single key to be used for both facilities).

Keflavik charges the same fee but facilities are minimal there, with no shower or toilet. However, water and electricity are available.

These two ports are the most frequented in Iceland, although visiting yachts are few in number.
