Recent Experience Of Obtaining Visa For French Polynesia

For US citizen cruisers requiring short stay visas, defined as 90 days or less, for French Polynesia (ninety days should be adequate for cruisers transiting French Polynesia toward New Zealand or Australia):

Given the relative ease of obtaining a 90 day visa for French Polynesia at a satellite French Consulate, in my case Atlanta, I would recommend that cruisers make the effort before embarking or on a visit to the US. It took 24 hours, requiring an overnight stay and cost 9,00 EUR (US$ 10.84) per visa.

Requirements Included:

Completed Schengen Visa application downloaded off web

Valid passport (one photocopy)

Passport size photo

Letter with itinerary

Proof of worldwide medical insurance

Proof of sufficient funds (bank statement)
