Following Jeanneau and the Ferretti Group, also Beneteau has opened up a representation in the new D-Marin in Turgutreis/ Turkey. The “Beneteau Center” is located next to the crane basin and belogs to Tezmarin, the distributor of the French Yachts in Turkey over many years. Their number is +90(252)3829330.

With regret I would like to announce the death of Mr. Altug Duransoy. Mr. Duransoy, a veteran of the Turkish yachting scene should be known by many cruisers as director of the Setur Kusadasi Marina. His last appointment was as the coordinator of the Setur Marina chain.

Interesting for Turkey-Fans: The Tourism Office in Mugla with the support of the Governor of Mugla has just published a “Mugla Guide”. With about 400 pages this is a very comprehensive guide including even lesser known curiosities, practical information, townplans etc. Reasonably priced with about € 7,00 and available in Turkish, English and German under mugla@mugla-turizm.gov.tr or tel +90(252)2141003.

As of April 1, 2004 a ferry will start to operate between D-Marin in Turgutreis and the Greek Island of Kos. According to the operating company Karavan Mare, the 300 ft. Eastern Bridge will shuttle four times a day. She can carry at each go 450 passengers and 110 cars or 12 trailers. It is planned that the ferry service will continue through winter.
