Dear Sir/Madam,
It is with great pleasure that I have come across your site. I have read and seen pictures from my land where I have never been..... I am a 32 yr old man born in deportation, my parents were expelled from Diego Garcia some months before my birth. They were forced to leave behind their furniture, animals.... everything and abandoned with only their bags of clothes on a dock in a foreign land.
I have never sat in a school chair I worked since aged 9, I have done all,
swept rich people's gardens, done their shopping, washed their cars, dogs, fished, dived to repair boats.... Then I got a small compensation from the ENGLISH... but we were stupid who could not be given cash they decided to give us land, as a bachelor I got 150 sq mt in a slum I sold it for 1000 pounds and started to learn how to write, talk good English and French. Got a PR course and tried to get on a management course but could not follow the pace...
ALL THIS IS TO LET YOU KNOW THAT FOR ME THE DAY THE ISLANDS ARE OPEN I AM
GAME.... EVEN IF I HAVE TO LIVE IN A TENT WITH NO ELECTRICITY I AM GAME, EVEN
WITH NO WATER FROM TAP, BUT BEFORE I DIE GOD BLESS I WILL BE THERE. THE
YACHTING COMMUNITY WILL ALWAYS BE PERMITTED,IF THE ENGLISH TRY
ANYTHING DONT YOU WORRY WE (the community, for like me many are dreaming of
that day) will make them change their rules for this is DIEGO not DEVON.
I hope one day to be able to be your host on my land.
Bye, Louis-Alain Besage.
