Kuching Anchorage

The only authorized anchorage area is now just outside of the village of Sajingkat. Use channel 20 to contact the river authority (signal). The causeway anchorage is currently being dredged, and is reportedly unsecure. This is an Islamic village set on stilts about 20 minutes from Kuching (a 2.50 ringit mini van ride). The village watches over you and your dinghy, and have been extremely nice. They also help with diesel and water, as no facilities exist for yachts outside the bridges. In spite of the lack of facilities, Kuching has been a marvellous and worthwhile stop.
