Sea Pack

Any Water - Any Where
Emergency Water
Desalination & Filtration

Imagine that you've had to abandon ship and don't know how long you'll have to float around in a life raft waiting to be rescued. It's hot and there's not much fresh water available. How are you going to survive in your life raft? Now imagine being able to convert sea water into a life giving drink without having to wear yourself out pumping a mechanical reverse osmosis seawater filter for hours in the scorching sun.

The SeaPack passive emergency desalination system does just that. Without having to hand pump or use electrical power the SeaPack removes pure water from the sea and transforms it into a drink that is high in calories to provide you energy. Perfect for surviving in a saltwater environment.

Small enough to fit in a kayak, life raft canister or in the emergency ditch bag on your boat, the SeaPack is made to save your life when all else fails.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the SeaPack work?
The SeaPack works via Forward Osmosis (the same process that plants and people use to survive). There is a special filtering membrane bag inside the tough outer bag. Sugar in the syrup charges that are squirted into the inner bag attract water from the seawater in the outer bag. Nothing except for water passes through the membrane.

Why is the SeaPack better than a typical hand held Reverse Osmosis (RO) pump that is used for emergency situations?
The SeaPack (SRP $99) costs far less than the least expensive ($800) RO pump available, thus making it affordable to almost anyone.

  • The SeaPack does not require any pumping at all. RO pumps require literally tens of thousands of pump cycles.
  • The SeaPack filter system has an indefinite shelf life, where the syrup charges have a FIVE year shelf life as compared to the regular yearly maintenance that a RO pump requires. There are no moving parts to break and no spares to purchase (other than extra syrup packs).
  • The SeaPack produces a high energy drink, not just plain water.
  • The SeaPack only weighs 2.7 lbs. That’s 1/2 of what the equivalent amount of water would weigh.

How much drink does the SeaPack produce?
The SeaPack produces 2.5 liters of life saving survival drink. Each syrup charge produces .5 liters (1 US Pint). With enough syrup charges you can produce over 48 liters over the 10 day lifespan of the filter (refer to the last FAQ); however this would require 96 syrup charges. Plan ahead and purchase what you feel is required based on your particular emergency situation.

Can I purchase additional syrup charges?
Yes, they are available on our website at www.sea-pack.com The syrup in these charges is specially formulated to provide consistent results and to last for five years.

Is this a proven technology?
The SeaPack technology has been in use by the US military for years. It has already been credited with saving US servicemen’s lives in the war on terrorism.

Does temperature affect the process?
Yes, the warmer the temperature the faster the SeaPack works.

Can I use the waterproof dry bag for something else?
Yes, dry bag that is included ($30 SRP) can be used for other items; however, we recommend that it be used to help protect the SeaPack. Once the SeaPack is in use the dry bag can be used based as the emergency situation mandates.

How many times can I use the SeaPack?
Once the conversion process has been started you can safely use the SeaPack as many times as possible over the course of the next ten days. Under an emergency situation, you might be forced to use it for longer.
