All the rallies listed on this page are well established events, or those that have been recommended by cruisers who use noonsite. All rallies have a printed cancellation policy on the application form. In order to avoid disappointment regarding loss of funds, be sure to read the small print and understand 100% the rally's refund policy should you have to withdraw.

Black Sea

KAYRA - Black Sea Rally. Highly successful rally organized by Ataköy Marina Yacht Club based on the shores of the Bosporus. The rally visits all countries bordering on the Black Sea. Also organise the Marmara Yacht Rally around the Sea of Marmaris.

Northern Europe

ARC Portugal

Rally across the Bay of Biscay and cruising along the Portuguese coast. Annual event, three weeks duration, every June. Plymouth, UK to Lagos, Portugal. In 2016, confirmed ARC and ARC+ participants benefit from one free crew space on ARC Portugal 2016 (worth £325).

Malts Cruise
Independent cruising through the Scottish western isles with hospitality at shoreside distilleries along the way. Annual event, over two weeks each July, back on for 2016. Starts at Oban 15th July 2016, ends at Lagavulin, Islay. See website for full information. All entries are made online via a secure payment system, making joining the Malts Cruise quick and simple.

Atlantic/Caribbean

ARC - Atlantic Rally for Cruisers

Annual cruising rally from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to Rodney Bay Saint Lucia. Departs at end of third week of November. The largest and longest running sailing rally in the world which annually attracts more than 200 yachts from 30+ nations. Now includes ARC+ with a stopover at Mindelo in the Cape Verdes

ARC Europe

ARC Europe is the west-to-east Atlantic rally, sailing from the Caribbean or North America to Europe. Starting in May from Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola, BVI or Ocean Marine Yacht Center in Portsmouth, VA, the two fleets rendezvous in St George's, Bermuda before crossing the Atlantic to the Azores. After cruising the Azores boats sail to the finish at Marina de Lagos in southern Portugal, or sail independently to northern Europe.

ARC USA

ARC USA is an end-of-season cruise in company departing the Caribbean before the start of the hurricane season. There are two route options; from Nanny Cay Marina on Tortola BVI to St George's, Bermuda. Boats can then wait for the best weather window, re-provision or change crews before restarting for Portsmouth Virginia and other East Coast ports. An alternative route, also starting the same day will be offered from Nanny Cay via the Old Bahama Channel direct to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The ARC Caribbean 1500 Rally is the largest and longest-running offshore cruising event in the Americas. Departs early November from Portsmouth, VA. and sails either 1500 miles to the British Virgin Islands or 875 miles to The Bahamas. Discover the adventure, camaraderie, competition and lifelong friendships that bring crews back year after year. Organised by World Cruising Club.

BRally - Coast of Brazil Northbound

NARC Rally
North American Rally to the Caribbean from Newport RI. Departs end of October. Organised by Offshore Passage Opportunities as a way to move charter fleet south. Have had some safety issues in previous editions.

2nd edition - November 2018. From Lanzarote (Canaries) to Marie-Galante (Islands of Guadeloupe).

Salty DAWG Rally

Departs Hampton VA in November for the Caribbean and returns to the USA the following May. Has had some safety issues on previous rallies. Now charging fees to participate.

Bermuda Cruising Rally

Grenada Sailing Week

Grenada’s only International Regatta attracts boats from near and far and kicks off the racing season in the Caribbean. Runs over 5 days and includes a Lay Day. Normally starts end of January.

Salty DAWG Cuba Rally
New cruising rally to Cuba (NW Cuba). Departs Virgin Gorda, BVI, late March and will be in Cuba April 5 – 20, 2017. All yachts welcome. Limited to 24 entries.

Panama Posse Rally
Free Rally. Starts Mexico Puerto Vallarta November 30, 2017. Sails to 7 countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica and ends at the Panama Canal.

Mediterranean

Culture Cruise & Sailing - Round Sicily Rally

A three week cruise circumnavigating Sicily and its islands, departing 9th September 2017 from Marina di Ragusa and ending there on the 30th. Option to winter your boat at Marina di Ragusa. Rally comprises 600+ NM at sea plus several land visits and cultural tours. Extensive research undertaken to develop the best itinerary, organisation and time frame for this new rally including a test cruise in August.

EMYR (Eastern Mediterranean Yacht Rally)

Taking the security situation into consideration, the EMYR route will change for 2017 and start in Kaş sailing eastwards as far as Mersin, then N. Cyprus, then back to Turkey. Total distance 1,311 nm, duration 55 days with 36 different marinas/ports/anchorages visited.
Starts 30 April from Kas and finishes 24 June in Istanbul. It is possible to do only part of the Rally. There are British, Dutch and Turkish sailors in the organizing committee.

Darwin to Kupang Rally/Race
Annual event in late July from Darwin to West Timor, continues to Bali. Organized by PORLASI (Indonesian Sailing Federation), participants obtain compulsory Indonesian cruising permit as part of the entry fee.

Red Sea Rally
No longer taking place as of May 2015

Sail Maldives
This north-to-south rally, which takes over a month to complete, commences on 20th January 2017 at Uligamu in Haa Alif Atoll. Entry fee which includes all formalities, rally organisation and events ashore regardless of number of crew, is less than it would cost you to cruise the Maldives for a month doing all the organisation yourself.

Around Australia Race and Rally
Inaugural event was planned for January 2011. This has now been postponed. No future date confirmed.

Baja Ha Ha Rally

Brisbane to Vanuatu Rally
Annual rally to Luganville, via Chesterfield and Huon Reefs. These Rallies support Medical and Educational needs in Vanuatu. In 2011 12 yachts took part. Contact Alan or Debra Profke by email for more information.

Coho Ho Ho
Seattle to San Deigo Sailing Rally
Departing Puget Sound August 12 2013 (first year), sailing to San Francisco, then to San Diego.

Coral Sea Rally: Cairns to Port Morseby
Run by the Royal Papua Yacht Club (RPYC) in conjunction with Cairns Yacht Club and Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron. Planned to follow on from Sail Cairns Regatta and depart from Cairns, Australia to Port Moresby, PNG from 23rd to 26th September 2017.
The cost of the rally is 490 PGK (approx 200 AUD) and is open to anyone. Fee includes all PNG customs and immigration clearances, berthing or mooring for the Rally period, complimentary fuel donated by Puma Energy, BBQ and Cultural night and tours.

Down Under Rally

Started in 2015, the primary goal of the Down Under "Go West" Rally is to provide yachts who are headed for Australia with benefits and a professional and informative introduction to Australia. Participants are free to choose their own departure port & time of departure, however Noumea, New Caledonia, is the official rally departure port. The Down Under Rally will pay the fees associated with the initial biosecurity pratique & timber inspection of all vessels that are registered participants of the 2017 Down "Go West" Rally. Their motto is “We make Cruising more Fun” but there’s a serious side too. ICA offers an ever-growing knowledge base of cruising resources and information specific to Extended Coastal (New Zealand and a developing section on Australia) and Offshore, with an emphasis on the South West Pacific. They offer a wide range of fun events, cruising rallies, training, practical demonstrations, on the water preparation and backup to assist cruisers to “get out there”.
Events include the FREE “All Points Rally” in November each year (from all major SW Pacific Ports into Opua, NZ); the CPS (Cruising Prep Seminar) in Auckland in November and Brisbane and Cairns in June/July; Multihull Solutions Sail2Indonesia Rally, Pacific Circuit Rally bi-annually; and much much more.
Membership is NZ$65.00 per year giving you access to the entire knowledge base. Nigel, Amanda and Ella, their daughter, are committed to encouraging more families to get out there and achieve their sailing dreams.

Pacific Puddle Jump
The Pacific Puddle Jump rally is an annual migration of private sailing yachts leaving various points on the west coast of the Americas, but all bound for French Polynesia. Via radio nets and electronic communications they share information on preparation, weather routing, and inter-island cruising. Because the fleet does not depart from the Americas on one single date, their arrivals in French Polynesia can be anytime in April, May or June. An annual three-day event that aims to give a warm Polynesian welcome to cruising sailors while celebrating their successful ocean crossing.

The Van Diemens Land Circumnavigation
This rally is a well-established (commencing 1990), world-class event conducted every two years or so by the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania (VDL-C). The event is a cruise-in-company involving an 800 nautical mile circumnavigation of Australia's island state of Tasmania. The 2015 cruise starts from Hobart on Wednesday 11th February 2015 and will return by Wednesday 18th March 2015. Places are limited so apply early. See website for details.

SE Asia

Darwin Dili Yacht Rally
Runs annually covering a distance of approx. 426 NM. Web-based event, organised and managed using the internet and email only. Yachts wishing to receive information on the Rally as it becomes available should register their interest by email to - include name of yacht in the subject line.

Freemantle to Bali & Beyond Bali Race & Rally
Departs May. Started in 1981. Beyond Bali Rally formalised 2013.

Japan: Setouchi International Yacht Rally
Organized and managed by Chokokai, an association of long distance voyagers in Japan. The first rally ran in the Autumn of 2013. It has since been repeated annually in the Seto Inalnd Sea, with both foreign and Japanese boats. In 2016 the rally was cancelled due to lack of participants however it ran again in May 2017 and is scheduled for the same month in 2018. Full details via weblink. Sail 2 Indonesia Rally
Run by the Island Cruising Association (NZ) annually.

Sail BIMP-EAGA
Exploring Equator-Asia
Annual programme of four yacht cruises designed to highlight the cultural attractions and amazing biodiversity of Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. Started in 2009. Detailed rally information on website.

Sail Indonesia
Annual Sailing Rally that departs Darwin mid-July. Three month program of linked events across Indonesia that are supported by the Indonesian Central Government and the Local Government Centres at the destinations visited. Check website for details. 2015 was the rally's 15th year.

Sail Malaysia
Rally - Passage to the East, from May to August, across Malaysia, from Langkawi to Sabah.

Sail Samal 2 Raja Ampat
Cruising Rally between the Philippines and Indonesia. Last ran for the 5th year in a row in 2016. The 2017 event was cancelled due to low interest (at least 20 yachts are needed for this event to run).
Departs Holiday Oceanview marina in Samal, next to Davao City and sail to Sangihe, Morotai, Wayag Islands & Raja Ampat. Departs early May. After enjoying Raja Ampat in June, yachts then have the options to sail back to the Philippines or sail to Palau taking advantage of the Southerly tradewinds. Many sail west to Komodo, Lombok & Bali to arrive in Western Kalimantan for Sail Karimata at the end of October. That will be just in time to check out to sail to Singapore,/Malaysia before the end of the 6-month visitor visas. Yachts sailing west will be able to join Sail Indonesia and those sailing back to the Philippines will arrive early August, in time to participate in the famous Kadayawan Festival in Davao.
