Red Sea & Gulf of Aden 2008
Any Boats Interested in a Suez Transit in November 6 July 08 spenweb05@yahoo.com Looking for boats interested in a transit of the Suez canal
around November and sail south in the Red Sea. Cruise to be at a leisurely pace with diving and exploring along the way. Exit of Red Sea together for obvious security reasons.
If interested please contact us aboard S/V Still Dreaming.
Any Crew Or Yachts Heading South February 27 2008 IdyllicEarth@aol.com My husband is aboard the Idyllic 32' Gulf Motor Sailing Sloop average speed 6 mph. He is in Massawa, Eritrea sailing toward Aden, Yemen and Oman. His boat motor overheated in Anfile Bay (south of Massawa). (He returned to Massawa and inland to Asmara to have his water pump repaired.)
He is in Massawa now. He could use a crew member or two who would have to pay their own way and their own share of expenses to, from, and on the boat. If you know of crew I would be grateful to hear from you.
Also, and more important, do you know of any convoy passing through the Red Sea south and east bound in the next month?
Harold was with Vasco Da Gama Rally but they were unable to wait for him when he broke down.

Djibouti, Red Sea to Darwin or Bali In July or August 2008 isabel.perrin@wanadoo.fr We have a 43 foot sailboat (centre board, aluminium) and are French. We hope to sail from Djibouti and the Red Sea to Darwin, or Bali in July and August this year (2008). Possibly stopping at Coco Keeling.... Another possibility is we go to the Seychelles from the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. We think in a convoy would be the best and safest way to travel, so would like to hear from any other boats considering a similar trip.

Red Sea - Seychelles yonatanpreminger@yahoo.co.uk
We are planning to sail down the Red Sea to the Seychelles, intending to
leave Bab el Mandeb around the beginning of December 2008 to catch the
start of the NE monsoon. Due to fears of piracy, we would like to join
or form a flotilla, at least for the risky stretch. We are a 54 foot
sailing yacht that can count on a 5 knot average speed under motor and 6
or 7 under sail. We would be happy to hear from any other yachts
interested in doing a similar route at a similar time.
Thanks, Yonatan
