The CA will be launching its latest innovation – the new North Sea Section – at this year’s London Boat Show, taking place from 12-20 January 2013. This new Section becomes the 18th in the CA’s portfolio and is dedicated to members interested in cruising the waters between Dover and Dunkirk in the south, and the River Elbe and Shetlands in the north. An inaugural meeting to welcome members and kick off activities for 2013 will be held at CA House, Limehouse, London on January 26th. Non-members are very welcome to attend.

The Cruising Association’s existing Sea area Sections have proven very successful and in addition to the North Sea, cover the Baltic, Biscay, Blue Waters, Northern France & Channel Islands, and the Mediterranean. Numerous members also take an interest in cruising Europe’s inland waterways, and there is a Section for these enthusiasts too.

The CA’s Sea area Sections exchange information on conditions to be encountered in their areas, organise specialist speaker conferences, rallies and cruises in a company and are centred on the sharing of information and social events. Each has an annual winter forum and a dedicated email ‘net’ on the members-only part of the Association’s website, where questions can be asked and responded to, information exchanged, events organised and the latest information exchanged.

The Cruising Association is unique in having this structure of dedicated member Sections, supporting its 4300, and growing membership.
