1968 French Olympic Yachtsman - Philoppe Ghrislain
Posted February 2010
prmd@bigpond.net.au
I was the goalkeeper in the Australian Field Hockey Olympic Team in the 1968 Mexico Olympic games. At the conclusion of the games I swapped track suits with a French Olympic Yachtsman Philippe Ghislain. Forty two years on, I still have that suit but as I am about to give it to a local sailor - I live near a huge lake, Lake Macquarie - I'd appreciate if one of your readers knows of Phillipe. It would be great to pass on his yachting history to the new keeper of the track suit. Thanks, Paul Dearing.

Cruising South East Asia in a Converted Fishing Boat
http://cruisingunderpower.fastmail.net/
Sue and Philip Goodrick (Aussie ex-sailors) cruised South East Asia aboard their motor vessel "Lifeline", which they converted from a Bass Strait (Australia) cray fishing boat. They lived aboard for over 6 years until Phil sadly died in a tragic accident in December 2008. Their website contains a lot of useful information about long distance cruising by powerboat, as well as costs, how they converted the boat, cruising guide reviews, anchorages and travel in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. The family created a rememberance website for Phil - go to www.rememberphilip.com.

The one on Vietnam in 2006 has lots of information that is still hard to obtain elsewhere.

Gryphon's Around the World in Eighty Megabytes
www.j40.org
For the past six years as we've been sailing slowly around the world, we've also been keeping a website updated with log entries. Some of you have been reading along and sharing the adventure, and we thank you for that. Now we've taken the entire contents of the website and updated it with lots of photographs from along the way. There are some short movies shot with our digital camera, a slideshow program, and a screensaver as well. Also, Jeff's trip to Antarctica is documented with photos. You can learn more about the CD on our website. Raine & Jeff Williams

Looking for Ingrid 38 owners
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ingrid38sailboat
There is a new web site for Ingrid 38 users. It is in its infancy and hopefully with time (and someone with computer skills) we will have a regular web site. Our interim location is a "Yahoo group":http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ingrid38sailboat Hopefully with time this group will lead to opportunities to share experiences, problems and hopefully facilitate drawing the community of this old and sturdy vessel together. Over 100 of the Ingrid 38’s were manufactured in the 70’s and 80’s and share their mold with other similar Collin Archer designs. Thanks Ken Gosling Sv/Allymar

Star Of The West
www.starofthewest.co.nz
Website has details of voyages/passages the yacht has completed since 1984 til present as well as other info. We completed our circumnavigation back to New Zealand in August 2005 and have been coastal cruising in NZ since. The website has been updated to incorporate completion of our journey and now the gaps are slowly being filled. Once complete, the construction details and the journeys since 1984 may provide inspiration for those wishing to do the same, be of interest to those cruising in similar waters or just easy dreaming for those comfortable in their armchairs.
