Atlantic Yacht Flying Colours Missing http://lawboat.blogspot.com The 54-foot yacht Flying Colours and its crew of four, vanished about 160 miles southeast of Cape Lookout, North Carolina on Monday May 7 2007. Conditions were stormy at the time, 40-foot seas and 45- to 60-knot winds, kicked up by tropical storm Andrea. The Coast Guard searched for six days before suspending the search on Saturday 13 May. Anyone sailing in the vicinity is urged to look out for any signs of the yacht.
Azores - SV Tiree posted September 06, updated April 2007 gloverw@hotmail.com On 12th June, having broken three ribs,I was airlifted from my yacht Tiree, an OE 32 (Olle Enderleine). As I was single-handing and almost halfway from Bermuda to the Azores I had no option but to leave her to drift, knowing that this would take her towards the Azores. On 11th September she was sighted by a German freighter, investigated and found to be unharmed after drifting over 500 miles. She is such a good boat I wasn't surprised. I am hoping that she will (be allowed to) continue her drift towards the Azores where in three more months time I will make the attempt to retrieve her. There are the usual concerns for one in my position,
one of which is that part of the gulf stream setting southwards on the west of the islands will prevent Tiree's progress. Meantime I would appreciate any news of her and her position and fair financial reward for actual retrieval when nearer the Azores. At time of writing, she is less than 500 mile west of them. Willie Glover.(Scotland tel# (0)1241 87 00 00)
The last news was on the 4th October 2006 when an Arabian tanker spotted her and boarded her. A photo shows her in excellent shape apart from the jib being shredded. I have had no news since. According to the currents on the west of the Azores she would not have been any closer than around 500 miles after which she would drift southwards and the westwards, bring her towards Bermuda. I would appreciate any news anyone can send my way.

Keel-centerboard Yacht built 1936 mlehmann@online.de Dear yachtfriends,
we are trying to find out about the origin of our old yacht. We would appreciate if you could look into old books of yacht building to find out if there is any note about our yacht. All we know is that our yacht was built around 1936 and was registered with the name "Eithir Falmouth".The yacht was later sailing to UK or Italy. The keel-centerboard yacht looks like the "Finesterre" and our boat only have two berths and not otherthings inside like a typical ocean-racer under the CCA-rule.
Details: LOA35'+ bowsprit. Beam 7'4". Draft 4'10"+centerboard. Weight 6tons,built out of Teakwood on oak with lead keel.
We think the yacht was built on Antigua, but we are not sure and want to find out. Any help finding out about the origin of our yacht will be very much appreciated.Thank you for help!

LOOKING FOR A FRIEND July 2007 seaview@maltanet.net I am looking for a very old friend of mine Andrea Schluter name of the yacht S.Y Kilmeny. She uses this website but I do not have her e-mail address. We sailed together from Spain to Australia. She was excellent crew on my 50` steel ketch `Bahhar`. When we arrived in Sydney I became the only Maltese that circumnavigate the world on a sailing yacht.
Now I own a 31`trimaran which I enjoy sailing the Mediterranean Sea.

Luis Napoleon Blanco posted February 2005 Hi, this is a message from a desperate family in Venezuela trying to find a relative whose name is Luis Napoleon Blanco, age 35 to 40, white skin, big body, brown hair, who left in a yacht call Paradice/Paradise, aparently flying a St. Thomas flag, (or possibly South African) from Trinidad February 14/2004, on to Margarita and to Europe. The skipper is Cesar Mora known as Juan Fernandez Soler. The last time Napoleon communicated with his familiy was April 15th 2004, reporting to be 12 days from Portugal and may stop first in Spain, did not say which port, so it appears like the yacht had a phone on board. Any information can be sent to celticat98@hotmail.com and ruben2021@cantv.net
Thanks for the help, Maria Ines

1950 sinking in the Guayas River windships@earthlink.net Looking for information about the sinking of the schooner yacht Chance there in about April 1950. The vessel was anchored in the river "across from the city". She was struck in the stern by a steel barge that broke loose from moorings. The schooner sank so quickly that the watchman -- the only one aboard, was unable to escape and drowned. CHANCE sank in the deepest part of the river and no attempt was made to remove the wreck. Suggestions? Newspaper accounts / "old timer" recollections / old photos in local bars or restaurants.
The vessel was owned at the time by a fellow named Larry Blanc. I built a model of her in 2004, and continue to flesh out her interesting history.
Randy M Biddle.
