Hello there, We are in AZUL, a catamaran Dean 44. At the moment we are in Venezuela and planning to cross the Panama canal sometime in March beginning of April. Three kids in board lots of toys looking for friends to play. Josh is 14, and the twins Daniel and Anderson 13. We are hoping to meet with Kalani and Perrfection somewhere in San Blas (two kids cats) and will be great to build up the colony... Juan, Diane, Josh, Anderson and Daniel

We are: - Jim, a certified teacher in English and Social Sciences with 26 years of experience teaching from Grade 6 to college. An arm chair sailor, certified diver, adventurer wanting to get experience on a boat in the Caribbean or Pacific.
- Chris, a certified teacher K-12 with more than 20 years of experience. Chris is also a certified diver, aerobics instructor, and runner.
- Abbi, our twelve-year-old daughter who loves the ocean and adventure. Abbi is also a certified diver, pianist, volleyball player, and more.
We have lived and taught in the Marshall Islands for five years, and we are wanting to immerse ourselves in the cruising lifestyle before we decide to purchase our own boat. Jim could join you on his own anytime this summer if you only have room for one, or the whole family could join you if room allows and you'd like some company for your child/children. Please email us if we could help you in any way!

Cruising with kids, currently in the Med

Hello, We are John, Kim, and (6 year old) Hannah aboard "Naia," a 34 foot Colvin designed gaff ketch, and have been cruising for the past 8 years. Hannah has grown up aboard, and is currently homeschooled via the Calvert curriculum. We have sailed from Texas to the Caribbean, north to Newfoundland, and finally in 2004 across the Atlantic to Europe. We're currently finishing up a winter in Marmaris (Yacht Marine), Turkey and would be happy to share information with other cruising families. Our homeschool co-op with "Alexina of Shoreham," a British boat with 6 year old daughter Tiger aboard, has worked out very well this past winter. Marmaris Yacht Marine has a dedicated Kid's Zone room which was useful for schooling. Other children have come and go during the winter and made it a comfortable place to be for families. Feel free to email us. Cheers, John Kim and Hannah Oliver

We are a family of 4, two daughters 2 and 5 years old. We are headed to the Panama canal and the South Pacific this May and on to New Zealand by November. Would love to hear from any family either ahead of us or on a similar track to hear how it is going with school, not sure how well we are doing, hopefully the experience will outweigh some of the technical teaching skills we lack. Always looking for info on places that are good for kids too. S/V Red Thread
