CSSN has announced the availability of an online form for reporting safety and security incidents that occur in Caribbean waters to cruisers.

Look for the “Report an Incident” icon on the CSSN home page at www.safetyandsecuritynet.com, to the right of the HEADLINES area.

The online form is straightforward and CCSN hope that it will make it easier to submit a complete report with all the necessary details and encourage cruisers that suffer security incidents to act and report them. The widespread availability of wifi/internet in the Caribbean should make it possible to complete an up to date report using the online form – remember, it is every cruiser’s responsibility to ensure that incidents are reported, with the online form it’s easy!

Effective April 1, 2014, the daily CSSN SSB voice net on 8104 at 0:815 AST was discontinued. Although the user survey indicated a desire for this service to continue, participation rates were too low to justify the time and effort required to continue this net.

Harm Brink of S/V Horta served faithfully as the CSSN multilingual net controller for the past 2 years.
