 Puerto Cabello : Profile
This old colonial city is considered to be Venezuela's main commercial and military port, and its houses and streets conserve the original colonial style. It has great beaches.
This is a Port of Entry. It is the most convenient one to use if wishing to visit Las Aves. Visiting this archipelago without clearing in (and then out again) first, is no longer tolerated.
Obtaining the necessary cruising permit may take several weeks.

It appears that the Venezuelan government has taken over the
marina at Puerto Cabello. This facility is quite near the naval base,
which provided some limited haulout facilities.
It is not known at this time what impact the government
takeover has had on facilities and services for cruising yachts.
