Docking

There are visitors' moorings off the town and at Ardantrive, across Kerrera Sound. The latter are more sheltered in strong SW/NW winds. There is no marina at Oban itself. Kerrera and Dunstaffnage being the closest.

There are anchorages at Brandystone, Gallanachbeg, Horseshoe Bay, Little Horseshoe Bay and at Dunstaffnage.

Following lobbying by World Cruising Club and local yachtsmen, CalMac, the operators of the Railway Pier in Oban, have agreed to introduce a reduced short stay tariff. The Railway Pier is normally very congested with fishing boats but there is an area kept free for refuelling (diesel only) behind the new CalMac ro-ro extension to the pier.

Short Stay: Pleasure craft requiring a short stay visit to a maximum of 4 hours between 0800 and 1800 will be subject to a nominal charge of £5.00, irrespective of length of vessel. (Non commercial activity only.)
