Docking

Very soft mud so keep close to pontoon.

During 2008 stone replenishment of Felixstowe beach taking place from Barge Sliedrecht 27 (position 51 deg 56.11min N 1 deg 26.10min E), via pipeline running 312 deg to the shore. Exclusion zone around the barge of 300m. Depth above pipeline will be about 1 metre so probably wise to keep close to the north of the Harwich approach North Channel until clear of the Wadgate Ledge G bn when northbound for the Deben or Orford Haven.

420 berth well sheltered with good protection in all conditions. Access is over sill with depth of about 1m at LWS but inside basin increases to around 2m. Brokerage, chandlery, electronics, engineering, GRP repairs, restaurant, sailing school, Wi-Fi access.

Lies at the head of Walton Creek and can only be navigated 2 hours either side of HW - yachts heading for Yacht Basin should arrive on rising tide as the entrance gate is kept shut once the tide turns in order to retain the water inside.Visitor moorings,restaurant/bar, showers, launderette, launching slip, workshop
