Docking

The Firth of Forth provides a good stretch of sailing water, especially for racing.

Granton harbour partly dries and is, at present (2007) being redeveloped. Port Edgar is a full service marina. The other harbours in the Forth suitable for yachts, are at Grangemouth and Edinburgh. The rest are purely commercial.

Ideally situated for exploring the Firth of Forth or for a stopover whilst sailing the east coast. 100 serviced berths and a wide variety of shops and restaurants adjacent to the harbour

Crail Harbour

56deg 15'.35N,02deg 37'.29W. Lying on the northern shore, this small harbour is a gem. Largely drying, so need to be able take the ground alongside. Call before entering. Electricity and water. Provisions, post office, bank, bars and restaurants in the town.

Grangemouth Harbour

Mainly a commercial port.

Granton Harbour
(S shore of Firth of Forth)

Mainly drying, but extensive redevelopement planned. Access HW +/-3.5hrs. All the moorings in Granton harbour belong to either the Forth Corinthian Yacht Club or the Royal Forth Yacht Club. The Edinburgh Marina Company, which is jointly owned by both clubs, manages pontoon berths on the East side of the Middle Pier. Visiting yachtsmen are welcome. Water is available on the pontoon, fuel is available from the Royal Forth Yacht Club.

300 berths (8 visitors'). South bank of Firth of Forth, next to the Forth Road Bridge. All facilities,fuel, chandlery, sailmakers, marine engineers, electronics, WiFi, LPG, bar and restaurant, yacht club, 5 ton crane (on main pier).

In the West harbour there are swinging moorings, these are accessible at all states of the tide. Mast crane. Clubhouse and bar.
