Exmouth : Profile
The River Exe forms an attractive stop on the western side of Lyme Bay. There are many places to both anchor and pick up a visitors' mooring in the river. In addition, the small commercial dock at Exmouth has now been converted into a marina.
Large parts of the estury are a nature reserve.
Beware of the strong ebb tide in the entrance channel, which, in a brisk wind from the south or SW can kick up a nasty chop.
