 St. Augustine : Profile
Known as the "Nation’s Oldest City", St Augustine was founded by the Spanish in 1565. It is on the NE coast of Florida and has several surviving old buildings and many museums depicting its history
Apart from the marinas, there are two main anchorages; the Bridge of Lions and Salt Run. Both places are offered a free twice-weekly pump-out service.
Earlier this year (2011) moorings were installed at Bridge of Lions and Salt Run and there is discussion about a plan to limit anchoring to 10 days only.
