Where is Sığacık?
Tucked away on Turkey’s Aegean coast, Sığacık – once the ancient harbour of Teos and originally a fishing village – is now a small seaside resort.
Located on a small peninsula in Izmir Province, facing north – the harbour is tucked into a small bay on the eastern side of Sığacık Korfezi. This is an interesting, sheltered harbour with a small walled village and beaches to the west.
The large Teos Marina, which opened in 2010, occupies the harbour and offers excellent facilities, including a 75 ton travelift, hard standing and repair services. There are several special offers for transient cruisers.

Sığacık is only 40 km from İzmir city center and 50 km from Adnan Menderes International Airport, making it one of the most accessible marinas on the Turkish coast. Within just an hour’s reach are some of Turkey’s most celebrated historical treasures:
- The magnificent ruins of Ephesus, once the crown jewel of the ancient world
- The sacred House of the Virgin Mary, nestled in the hills above Selçuk
- The cobblestone streets of Şirince, a charming wine village where tradition meets serenity
In Sığacık itself is a castle, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, the Sunday market and Teos Ancient City,.
From Teos Marina, you can easily sail to countless coves and bays with crystalline waters ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and overnight anchorage.
Nearby destinations include Çeşme, Kuşadası, and Samos Island (Greece).
