El Kantaoui : Profile

Location

A very pleasent town located about 5NM north of Sousse.

Position 35°53' N,10°36' E.

Clearance

Customs and Immigration officers are on duty 24 hours. Their offices are on the starboard side past the entrance and the boatyard.

Docking

The arrival quay is to port of the entrance and the Port Captain's office is in the white building on that quay. Customs and immigration are on the opposite side, by the travelift. Docking fees for longer stays are quite reasonable but advance bookings are essential for winter stays (2 or 3 months in advance and advance payment of 50% required). The marina is full in winter.

A pleasant marina with a limited range of repair service. In onshore winds a swell makes itself fel inside the marina especially on the western quay (reception dock) by the Capitainerie.

300 berth marina with water, electricty, showers and a fuel berth. Pleasant village atmosphere with restaurants and shops around marina. 40 ton lift, security service and repair services. Reasonable fees - 20 euros/day for 12m yacht and 15 in winter (2009), good discounts for long stays.
