On approaching the island, contact Tristan Radio via VHF channel 16 or on HFSSB 4149/6230/8294mhz to advise of ETA.
Clearance must be obtained from the Harbourmaster, Medical Officer and Immigration Officer before anchoring or disembarking passengers or crew and advice must be obtained regarding a safe anchorage position. The Visits Liaison Officer will arrange for officials to visit the boat. Immigration is completed ashore.
Yachts should maintain contact with Tristan Radio while at the anchorage, and inform them of ETD and destination.
No person may land at Nightingale, Alex or Stoltenhoff Islands without first clearing at Tristan and then obtaining permission from the Administrator.

All visitors must hold a valid passport and obtain permission to land by having a landing stamp inserted in their passport.

Firearms must be kept on board and not landed. There are restrictions on the import of alcohol.
There is a ban on the import without a permit of any live or dead animals or plants.

Overtime is charged by arrangement. There is a landing fee of £15 per person plus £5 harbour dues.

All fees are to be paid in cash or travellers cheques at the Treasury Office in Sterling, Rand or US dollars. Yachts arriving at a weekend or public holiday should pay their fees to the Immigration Officer.

Landing is prohibited on Gough and Inaccessible Islands. Landing on Nightingale, Alex or Stoltenhoff Islands is only allowed if accompanied by a local guide. The guide must be picked up from Tristan and returned the same day before nightfall. Anyone wishing to walk up the mountain on Tristan must also be accompanied by a local guide. In all cases the guide will be in charge of the party.
Yachts wishing to fish for finfish for their own consumption must ask permission of the Administrator. Fishing for lobster is strictly prohibited.
