Old Naval fortifications at Piegeon Island (joined by a causeway) are easily reached from Rodney Bay by road or dinghy (dock by Jambe de Bois restaurant).
Nearby Gros Islet good place to visit on Friday nights.

Pirate Rentals Old Customs Dock, Next to Rodney Bay Marina Tel:+1 758 724 5111 Scooter, mountain bike, buggy/cart and scuba and snorkel equipment rental service. Also a range of boat related activities from boat charters, Island tours, fishing, deliveries and quality repair services. Local owner - Desmond St. Marthe - spent many years in the yachting industry overseas and is reported to be very helpful. Good internet access on docks.
Castries (the Capital)has extensive market (best on Saturdays), good supermarkets and a buildings of interest around the Derek Walcot Square.
Marigot Bay has dock space or mooring buoys or you can anchor inside the buoyed entrance channel. Diving and fishing is regulated by CMMA and SMMA organizations who operate mooring buoys.
Soufriere is an interesting old French town with weathered wooden structures and gingerbred trim. Varied choice of eating and shopping here and snorkelling off Soufriere is excellent. The Diamond Botanical garden well worth a visit and The Pitons (two tall peaks on St Lucias Southwest shore) are a challenge to climb.
There is a range of bars and restaurants at Rodney Bay, including Scuttle Butts Restaurant, Cafe Ole, Bosun's Bar & Bistro, the Boatyard Pub and the Bread Basket.
