  Santander : Profile

Docking

Shelter is excellent and there is all weather/all tide access to the harbour. Careful note needs to be taken of the many sandbanks once inside. There are three marinas which can be contacted on VHF channel 09.

First is the marina at La Horadada run by the Club Nautico de La Horadada.

Second is the one in Darsena de Puerto Chico, run by the Real Club Maritimo de Santander.

Third is the Marina del Cantabrico, in the SW corner, which is some way from the city. This is a large, new, modern marina with good security and along-side berths. The maximum LOA is 20m.

There is also a shallow anchorage behind the Aranel del Puntal.

Local weather is broadcast on VHF ch.11 at 0045 and every 4 hrs until 2345
