The port authority should be contacted on VHF Channel 16 for instructions. There is a fishing harbour where yachts may berth if there is space. The official requirement is to pass south and then east of Gorée Island before proceeding 2.7 miles NNE into the recommended anchorage NW of Pointe de Bel-Air. The yacht club Cercle de Voile de Dakar is nearby.
Officials may not come to the boat, so the captain should take all papers to the Port Captain's office (Commissariat Special du Port) on Boulevard de la Liberation. Immigration formalities are completed at the same place. Ship's papers are retained until departure. The office is open 0800-1230, 1400-1700 Monday to Friday.

The Cercle de Voile de Dakar (CVD) is a yacht club with good facilities, which are available to visiting yachts. Boats can be hauled out and there is a limited range of repair services available.
