  Vilamoura : Profile

Clearance

For clearance, yachts must come alongside the reception dock on the port side in front of the control tower. For one night stops it is possible to check in and out at the same time.

All paperwork (ships papers, passports and insurance) is carried out at marina office.

Docking

The wide entrance leads into an outer basin from which a narrower entrance leads to the marina. The shelter here is very good but in strong southerlies, the wide entrance can be dangerous.

On arrival, berth at the reception pontoon and report to the office.

This large and well-run marina is very popular among North European sailors as it is a good place to leave the boat for long periods, especially if planning to set off across the Atlantic and not go into the Mediterranean. The marina offers all usual services with fuel at the reception dock. There is a 60 ton boat hoist and 2 and 6 ton cranes. There are also facilities to wash and dry your sails yourself.
