Sines : Profile

Location

This port is a useful haven, being halfway between Lisbon and Cape St. Vincent. Although a small industrial town, the marina is adjacent to a clean sandy beach nestled below the delightful Old Town. It´s quite a hike up, but well worth it for the views.

Position 37°57'N, 08°52.1'W.

Clearance

Whether at anchor or in the marina, take passports and ships papers to the office to complete the usual forms.

Docking

The shelter is good in the small well-equipped marina situated inside the Porto Pesca (fishing harbour). This is in the NE corner of the large commercial harbour.

It is also possible to anchor in the inner harbour, close to the marina in 4m, although the holding may not be too good.

All facilities, with new marina building completed 2010. Excellent shower, toilet and laundry facilities plus fuel. Secure to the hammerhead and report to the marina office. Some repairs (electrical and mechanical). Small chandlery. ATM.
