 Baleeira (Sagres) : Profile
Being just three and a half miles east of cape St. Vincent, this bay forms a useful passage anchorage.
Position 37°0.7'N, 08°55.4'W.
On approach, beware of the fishing nets.
Exposed to easterlies.
Anchor north of the two jetties in about 6m. Bottom is rocky in places.
The Ilhas do Martinhal Diving School (near the jetty) may have a mooring buoy free which can be used.
There are often northerly squalls during the afternoon.
Restaurant and bars and some provisions can be found ashore.
