 Swinoujscie - Profile

Location

This commercial port close to the Polish-German border is a convenient place to clear into Poland for boats arriving from the west.

This busy town is a holiday resort as well as a naval, commercial and fishing port.

Position 53° 55'46"N, 14° 16'30"E (harbour entrance)

Clearance

Boats clear in at the exposed customs quay, just inside the harbour entrance to port, past the breakwaters but before reaching the first commercial dock.

The Coast Guard and Customs are situated just beyond the base of the long harbour wall on the east side of the harbour entrance. Call Port Control on Channel 12 prior to entering or leaving Port. Great caution should be taken when mooring up to clear Customs as the concrete harbour wall is short and broken and there can be a large swell from passing ships.

After formalities are completed one is allowed to move to the town quay Wladyslawa IV near the navy basin further upriver. In the case of unfavourable weather conditions, boats can get permission to clear in at the town quay (Marina Orion).

Docking

The small marina to sta'bd is only suitable for small craft (under 10m), but the larger basin 0.5N further on, Basen Stoczniowy, is being further developed as the city's main yacht harbour. It provides safe, well-sheltered berths.

There is no anchorage close to the port. The nearest is in the inland sea of Zalew Szczecinski, 10NM to the south.
