 Puerto Galera (Mindoro) : Profile
A new system for clearance is in place if you are traveling to Puerto Galera.
Arriving yachts will only be able to enter at either Muelle Pier or
Balatero Pier. A Php50 Environmental User Fee is levied on every
visitor, on a per visit basis.
Yachts can contact the Yacht Club in advance for information on anchorages and port clearance.
The Yacht Club maintains visitor moorings very close to the western end of Muelle Bay, next to the town. Yachts are not allowed to anchor in Muelle Bay because that area of water is a protected marine environment, except for the fixed moorings. Anchoring is permitted in Boquete Bay or Dalaruan Bay, but one should take great care when anchoring so as not to disturb the protected
corals and the indigenous giant clams.
The Yacht Club moorings lie within Puerto Galera's natural typhoon shelter and are regularly maintained in order to provide high levels of security. There is a boat service (runs at reduced times during the summer months, 8am-9am, 12-9pm Monday to Friday, until 10pm on Friday and 8am-10pm weekends).

Pandan Island is the only resort on the West coast of Mindoro and is the gateway to Apo Reef, and also a good waypoint for yachts travelling to Coron, Basuanga. It has a restaurant and dive shop.
There is a good anchorage south west of the beach, in fair and medium weather conditions. For vessels with less than two metre draft there is a sandy area about four metres deep, vessels with more draft need to anchor further offshore in about 25 metres of water (good holding in mud). Avoid dropping your anchor between the two areas as the steep slope may cause your anchor to drag in northerly winds.

If you don't want to use a visitor mooring, safe anchorage can be found at Boquete Bay or Dalaruan Bay, but please take great care when anchoring so as not to disturb the protected corals and the indigenous giant clams.
