  Callao (Lima) : Profile

Clearance

Callao is the port of the capital Lima, which is only a short distance inland. Visiting yachts are normally directed by the yacht club launch to a club mooring. Contact Jamie Ackerman (Operations Manager) at the yacht club, who can help with the procedure (or provide someone who can). Try to arrive during the working week as the offices are fully manned then and advise the yacht club of your ETA 72 hours in advance so that appointments with the various officials can be made. There are four offices to visit; Health Department(Sanidad Maritima), National Port Authority (civilian), Port Captain (Navy) and Immigration. A customs check is not required for pleasure yachts.

Shore passes will be issued, but these are not valid for travel outside Callao and Lima, so a proper visa should be requested if intending to travel inland.

On clearing out, Port Authority, Port Captain and Immigration must be visited.
