  Helen Reef : Profile

Location

This is one of the outer islands of Palau and lies some 350 miles SW of the main island. It is a National Park and just 4 people live there.

This classic desert island is just 8 feet above sea level and is covered in trees. It is surrounded by a reef.

Position 2°52.48'N, 131°43.13'E.

Clearance

This is NOT a Port of Entry and official clearance into Palau cannot be made here, but the rangers on the island welcome a call from passing yachts.

They can be contacted via VHF radio but with only handheld sets, their range is limited.

Last updated June 2011.

Docking

There is a pass through the reef and the rangers can advise on an anchorage with good holding in 15m.
