Farsund : Profile
An attractive port lying about 100 NM west of Kristiansand on Norway's southern coast.
This is an official Port of Entry.
This small town has good facilities for sailors including free moorings, water, electricity, WiFi, showers and launderette.
In the summer a representative from the tourist office walks the docks twice a day and talks to visiting sailors.
Farsund has been rated the best guest harbour in Norway.
Yachts are often greeted with morning paper and a small bag with fresh
breadrolls!
The guest harbour lies in the centre of the town, with shops, bank, post office, cafés and restaurants within easy reach. It has 40-60 moorings, sanitary facilities, and fuel.
The Tourist Information Office is near the main quay.
Some of the nearby islands have their own quays, toilets and b-b-q facilities.
See www.farsund2000.com for more information on local attractions.
Last updated October 2011.
There is a yacht club here which holds an annual regatta.
