Clearance

Contact Harbour Control on Channel 16 who will direct the yacht to one of the marinas where clearance formalities can be completed.

The official customs dock here is not very yacht friendly and the wake of passing boats can cause problems.

Docking

Auckland’s facilities are of the highest standard. Auckland has eight major marinas, including those in the Westhaven-Viaduct area, which has hosted the Volvo Ocean Race and the America's Cup (twice).

The inner city Westhaven area is home to over 100 marine companies, all within a compact area that can be walked from various berths. It is the country’s largest marine centre and there are plans to develop it further. An overview can be found at www.westhavenrefit.co.nz.
