The official customs dock here is not very yacht friendly and the wake of passing boats can cause problems.

Auckland’s facilities are of the highest standard. Auckland has eight major marinas, including those in the Westhaven-Viaduct area, which has hosted the Volvo Ocean Race and the America's Cup (twice).
The inner city Westhaven area is home to over 100 marine companies, all within a compact area that can be walked from various berths. It is the country’s largest marine centre and there are plans to develop it further. An overview can be found at www.westhavenrefit.co.nz.

A ferry runs from the City to Bayswater(5 minutes. Mostly private berths. Not known if they take visitors. Maintenance facilities available adjacent to marina.

It concentrates on superyachts and large charter craft. There is a ferry to downtown. It has 557 berths, pump-out facility, 45 ton travel hoist, fuel (24hrs), chandlery, cafe/bar, liquor store and hardstanding for DIY and live-aboard. Full range of repair facilities. Cruising Club based on site. No pump-out facility.

Westhaven Marina 137 Westhaven Dr, St Marys Bay, Auckland, New Zealand Tel:0064 9 309 1352, Fax:0064 9 367 5477, VHF Channel 13 info@westhaven.co.nz Opening Hours: 24/7 This huge marina has nearly 1500 berths, 330 pile and 50 swinging moorings. It has all facilities, and what is not on-site is close by. The Royal NZ Yacht Squadron is based here, along with three other yacht/boating clubs.
