Lauwersoog : Profile
Lauwersoog lies to the east of the entrance to the Lauwersmeer which then provides access to the Waddenzee and all the harbours from Borkum to Vlieland.
Vessels from outside the Schengen Countries cannot enter Lauwersoog without reporting to the Konklijk Marechaussee (Immigration Authority ). This can be done by phone or fax. When reporting, the skipper should have three copies of a list containing details of the crew (with first and second name, sex, date of birth and passport number ) and also the yacht (name, flag and homeport). After reporting in you will be instructed either to proceed (the usual action) or to go to the nearest yacht harbour and wait for an Officer to visit. Three hours before departure, report to the same authorities.
Immigration Authority (Konklijk Marechaussee) Tel:(0)58-2123231, Fax:(0) 58-2123077.
There is excellent shelter here.
The marina is just inside the entrance to the Lauwersmeer, south of the Visserhaven (commercial and fishing harbour).
