Agadir : Profile
One should contact Port Control on VHF Channel 16 and ask permission to come alongside the commercial dock for clearance. The ship's papers must be presented to the port captain who may retain them during the yacht's stay in port. Similarly, the port police will retain passports and issue special passes for access through the harbour gates.
A useful port on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, being just 220 NM from the Canaries.
The new marina here is now open, although facilities are limited. The entrance is towards the bathing beach, NOT through the main harbour.
Alternatively, boats can anchor off the yacht club in the NE of the Grand Bassin, which welcomes visitors. The dinghy can be left at the yacht club pontoon. Water can be obtained at the same dock, which has sufficient depth at high tide. Unfortunately, the harbour tends to be very dirty and polluted.
There is good provisioning in town.
