San Carlos : Profile
San Carlos is a leisure boating centre on the mainland coast in the Gulf of California. It is 15 miles from the commercial port of Guaymas.
Position 27°56.4'N, 111°05.5'W.
There is a Port Captain's office at the harbour and yachts can clear in themselves, or arrange it through one of the marinas. It is not necessary to report to Immigration if this is not the first port of call in Mexico.
There are several well protected marinas and many attractive anchorages.

It is a full service marina with haul-out facilities and shore storage. Fuel dock, 24 hr security, mini-storage units. It also offers fax, copying, email and port entry Clearance services. It is considered to be a safe berth during the hurricane season.

Launching ramp, 10 ton crane, shore storage, fuel dock and chandlery. Most repairs possible. A weekly visit from the propane truck will fill tanks. The marina also administers 30 swinging moorings in the outer bay. Launderette, supermarket, hardware store, dive shop, restaurants and bars are all close by.
This marina is regarded as a 'hurricane hole'.
