Yachts must check in with the Port Captain both if moored in the small boat harbour or east of the town in the Bay of Matenchen.

Irma will take care of your port clearance with the Port Captain, Migracion and Aduana and pays all your fees at the various banks for only $20 service fee – a good deal. Irma also makes arrangements for fuel, not the Port Captain.

Docking

San Blas, a small fishing village 20 miles north of Santa Cruz, has a variety of attractions such as beaches, colonial architecture, history, many species of exotic birds, a thick tropical jungle, estuaries and a navigable river. It was was an important Spanish port from the late 16th to the 19th century.

The entrance channel here, constantly moves. Call Norm Goldie on VHF channel 22 for advice. There is often a 3 knot current through the harbour anchorage.
