Puerto Vallarta : Profile
Puerto Vallarta is an authentic Mexican town as well as a world-class resort, completely geared up for tourists and with ample services for yachts.
Marina Vallarta is a convenient place to complete formalities. Port captain and customs offices are in the terminal building by the cruise ship dock. Immigration is in town. Puerto Vallarta is also reported to be the only safe harbour in the area during the hurricane season.

There are three marinas here, though all have suffered some hurricane damage.
The only anchorage area inside the harbour, is off the creek mouth. Anchoring is prohibited elsewhere (including in the Los Arcos underwater park).

The only services offered at present are water and electricity, with space for 80 vessels. Situated in the “El Chino”, inside the living complex Nuevo Vallarta right in front of the hotel and Marina Paradise Village, 3.5 miles NW of the harbour inside its own dredged lagoon. The entrance channel silts up, so it is advisable to call ahead to check the current depth.

It has all facilities, laundry, and pump-out facility. There is a store and fuel available near by. The marina office can arrange clearance.
It has recently been reported as rather run-down and subject to minor theft.

Automatic gate keys, 24-hr. security, cable TV, potable water, use of hotel facilities. On-site shopping centre. Use Caution at entrance to marina on-going dredging. Offers customs & immigration service.
