Lamu : Profile
This old stone-built town has a facinating and distinctive architecture. It lies approximately 60NM south of the border with Somalia.
Boats are boarded on arrival by quarantine and customs. All currency and valuable items must be declared, both of which will be checked against the declaration on departure.
Facilities in Lamu are poor. Fuel and water have to be taken in jerrycans and there are only limited food supplies with the exception of fresh produce.
