Montego Bay : Profile
Customs and immigration officials are located in the wharf area of Montego Freeport. It is best to proceed directly to the Montego Bay Yacht Club who should be contacted on Channel 16. The club is open daily from 0900 to 2400 for members, but visitors are welcomed. Officials may come to the club or the captain will be asked to go to the commercial port for Customs formalities and to the airport to complete Immigration formalities.
The Montego Bay Yacht Club has good facilities, which may be used by visiting sailors. Fuel and water are available. The docking facilities are not of a high standard and one should be cautious if asked to dock on the exposed eastern side where there is a long fetch and it can be quite rough when the trade winds are blowing strongly. The club office is very helpful and will advise on repairs.
