  Abidjan : Profile

Clearance

Yachts should try and come to the main dock to clear customs and immigration. If there is no space, yachts normally anchor at Carena, close to the centre of town, or at the local yacht club (Centre de Voile Abidjanaise).

Docking

Apart from the anchorage off the yacht club, there is also good shelter in the lagoon, which can be navigated for a long distance but only by shallow drafted yachts, as the depths are less than 4 ft (1.20 m).

Yacht Clubs

Although yachting facilities are virtually non-existent, the yacht club in Abidjan welcomes visitors and may be able to help in an emergency. There are various workshops in the industrial zone south of the city.
