Ravenna : Profile

Location

This sleepy little town hides a glorious past. Its famous Byzantine mosaics are reputed to be the best outside of Istanbul and are a legacy of its hayday as the capital of the Western Roman Empire in the 6th to 8th centry.

Its port, Porto Corsini, lies about 80nm south of Venice and 40nm NW of Rimini.

Position 44°29.4'N, 12°17'E. (Porto Corsini).

All officials are based here.

The Harbour master's office is near the fuel berth.

Docking

Yachts are not allowed to proceed up the canal to the town of Ravenna, not can they berth in the commercial part of the Port of Corsini.

There is a large marina, as well as yacht club berths here. There are plans to extend the maina, but no details are currently available.
