Muggia : Profile
This attractive little town is almost on the border with Slovenia, in the NW corner of the Adriatic. It is just 2nm south of Trieste, across the bay.
Postion 45°36.4'N, 13°46'E.
This is a Port of Entry.
Out of season, the harbour master is only on duty for limited hours and only on certain days.
Probably the best berthing option, is the marina at San Pocco which is about half a mile to the west of the harbour of Muggia.
The yacht club has a few berths on the western side of the harbour. Fishing and local boats occupy the inner pontoons.
There may be space by the HM office at the root of the N. breakwater.
Sheltered for all directions, but winds from the west can cause a swell to enter.
Last updated March 2010.
