Port control should be contacted on VHF Channels 16 or 12. After anchoring in the inner harbour, the yacht is inspected by customs and possibly health. As the commercial harbour is busy with large ships, yachts are advised to clear in at the smaller port of Panaji (formerly Panjim) where customs and immigration are available. The recommended anchorage is next to the port office in Mandovi River, just short of the bridge. Officials are reported to be friendly at Panaji and provisioning is good.
